Free virtual machines for active forum members.
FreeVPS is a community initiative providing free NAT KVM VPS instances to active forum members, sustained entirely by generous hosting providers who donate physical hypervisor hardware.
Proof of community participation.
FreeVPS is sustained by community trust, not advertising. To ensure donated resources reach genuine members who contribute, every application must meet four verifiable forum criteria.
Opting for a donor plan does not bypass these requirements. All four criteria apply equally regardless of plan type.
You must have a verifiable history of recent, ongoing participation on LowEndTalk or LowEndSpirit.
Your community profile must be established for at least 3 months prior to requesting an instance.
At least 50 legitimate forum posts are required across non-spam discussion categories.
Your posts must have earned at least 25 thanks from fellow community members.
Always free. Sustained by charity.
All resources are donated by community sponsors. Members desiring expanded compute can unlock donor-tier resources by contributing to any recognized charity.
